Pharmacy Residency Program

Sun Life Health Community Pharmacy PGY1 Residency Program

Sun Life Health has a progressive pharmacy department that is rapidly growing and advancing in community and clinical services. Our residency program is dedicated to preparing pharmacists for leadership and administrative roles within community health centers, such as clinical positions in community and ambulatory care settings or preparation for a PGY2 residency. To ensure optimal care, the residency program offers a wide-range of opportunities to work with our providers in the management of diabetes, weight and nutrition management, anticoagulation, and other complex disease states. Residents will train in 340B compliant community pharmacies embedded in primary clinics with full EHR access. In the primary care setting, residents will be able to work with multidisciplinary teams consisting of medical doctors, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, diabetes educators, and behavioral health educators. Residents will also be given the opportunity to co-precept pharmacy students and we offer academic affiliation with University of Arizona College of Pharmacy and Midwestern University College of Pharmacy – Glendale.
